So What’s The Story?

After a mission gone wrong Ethan is forced to make choices to protect his team, and the world from a new threat known as the Apostles from destroying one third of the world’s population. This incredible action movie achievement is full of action, betrayal, and tons of Mission Impossible entertainment that fans will be looking for.

Is It Worth Your While?

Unknown.jpeg

Mission Impossible: Fallout is not only the best of the franchise, but it might also be one of the best action movies ever made! Now here are my reasons. First of all the directing. I thought the director directed it in a fast paced, and entertaining way that kept you on the edge of your seat hungry for more. The action sequences were done incredibly well, and were probably the best of the franchise! I also thought that the story in this one was much more clever than any of the previous ones even though it’s the same sort of concept in each one where a group wants to end the world or whatever, but still this one was smarter, and very fun. Next I thought  that the visual effects were outstanding, and very well done. Even though that we saw it in 2D it was still amazing to watch. I also thought that the performances were really good, and even the supporting cast did a good job! I mean come on this is Tom Cruise that were talking about here. Overall I thought that Mission Impossible: Fallout was a fast paced, fun, and an incredible achievement for action movies.

How Was the Cast

images.jpeg

The cast in Mission Impossible: Fallout was incredible! First we have Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt. He has been playing this role for years, and wow he is doing a fantastic job! Those stunts all of those intense scenes just show you how great an actor can be, and if Tom Cruise does not continue this role then I don’t know what I would do with myself. Next we have Henry Cavill as August Walker. He played a great character with great twists, and he played the role very well. Now I can’t spoil what happens with him in the movie or else that would be mean. I can tell you though if you do see it you will enjoy the twist as much as I did. Third we have Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn. Simon Pegg has a talent to light up a movie with his joy, and comedy, and I have to say that his performance in this was probably one of the best of his entire career because he is almost meant to be a goofy character, and bring fun, joy, and laughter into the movie. Fourth, and finally we have Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust. I thought that she improved a ton over the fifth because she was a much more important character in this than in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. She also seemed more focused on being her character in this one, and making you believe that she was the character. Overall I thought that these stars all did an excellent job in this movie.

Aging ‘The Mission’

I gave this movie 13+ mostly because of violence. There are many scenes of explosions, gun fights, hand to hand combat, peril, and blood. Many people are killed, and there is one brief kiss. Ethan though is a strong, and determined character who will do anything to save his friends from mortal danger no matter how impossible it may be. Overall if your child enjoys tons of action, and fun go see it, but overall I recommend this movie for younger teens, and up.

"Skyscraper" Has Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson..and Nothing Else

So What’s The Story?

Hi, this is Keaton Marcus from Sweet and Sour Movie Reviews and today I will be reviewing half-reboot to classic Actioner flick Die Hard, now titled Skyscraper starring Dwayne Johnson. Will Sawyer (Johnson), a former FBI agent is called up with his wife and two kids to be the first family ever to go to the upper floors of the biggest skyscraper in the world known as the Pearl; But when the upper building gets lit on fire by supposed terrorists and with the family trapped inside, Will must save them and get out before it is too late.

How Was The Cast?

Skyscraper-trailer-700x300.jpg

One of the things that is similar between Die Hard and this year’s Skyscraper is that they both star immensely famous action stars: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Bruce Willis, however the two flicks are completely different in quality and story in so many ways. Dwayne Johnson with his muscular persona, is known for the Fast and Furious franchise, Moana, Central Intelligence, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Rampage etc. A really important thing to known about the majority of The Rock’s films is that no matter how utterly brainless the film is Johnson’s natural charisma always makes the pic watchable, and even fun; We have seen many inconceivably poor flicks from actor Dwayne Johnson in the past, including the terrible R-rated Comedy Baywatch, the family-friendly pic The Tooth Fairy, and the unrealistic video-game adaption earlier this year, Rampage; While Skyscraper is brainless, and never gets the full potential of its inviting premise, the film rides on Johnson’s muscular Will Sawyer, despite the over-bearing, and choppy action sequences and the actor’s disappointing adherence to generic formula. Secondly, Sarah Sawyer played by mis-used actress Neve Campbell known for the Scream franchise and Wild Things. Although refreshingly unfamiliar, there are better choices for the role, and Campbell never seems to show her previous talents amidst the un-intelligent script writing, or the poor directing, failing to deliver a compelling performance or to make a reasonable diversion compared to all of the other better choices, overall making Campbell’s character mis-used and barely in the film, with no character development. Lastly there is the main villain to the story named Kores Botha and played by Danish actor Roland Moller known for The Commuter, Atomic Blonde, Land of Mine etc. Overall if Moller was not compared with Mr. Rickman from the classic Die Hard, I would consider him a reasonable solidly crafted villain, but thinking about the competition between the two “bad guys” Rickman is obviously the way better talent with a better setup, script and motives which all thrive in the original, however with Moller’s Botha director Rawson Marshall Thurber could have done a much cleverly told villain.

Is It Worth Your While?

5b44b0b317441735008b4908-750-375.jpg

Directing this “reboot” of Die Hard, is Rawson Marshall Thurber known for Central Intelligence, Were the Millers, Easy A etc. Although not working with Dwayne Johnson a lot, Thurber does a decent, half-hearted job on creating a reasonably entertaining action flick with cherished star “The Rock”, however since Thurber is more in the comedy genre I never felt truly proud of his work on this movie, though I did after watching John McTiernan’s Die Hard, though in the director’s defence after watching the ads for Skyscraper we all knew it would never match up to the classic; But surprisingly, the film ended up a flick that may be unoriginal and just a bit short on length, setup and story, but with an undeniable sense of fun and Dwayne Johnson’s always purely awesome/badass character director Rawson Marshall Thurber’s Skyscraper is worth watching once with 3D effect in the cinema. Special effects wise, surprisingly the film did not go as far on production budgets as it could have gone standing at a reasonable 125M which is pretty much average for Dwayne Johnson flicks, however as I said with the 3D effect on the big screens, Skyscraper proves more than worthy with undeniably impressive visceral effects and CGI and although there is not enough balance between the 3D CGI and the storyline or plot which happens to be the case with most modern action movies concluding to be pretty normal. Like I said with the weak storytelling and plot, which was mostly okay since the ads promised a fun, but dumb flick, but since Die Hard spent so much more time setting up the characters, main plot and concept it is almost upsetting that I have even compared it to the classic; In my opinion the main issue to this problem is that this flick only stands at 1hr 32mins minus the 10-minute credits which is usually very uncommon as I was expecting a 2 hr movie like most action films today.

Aging ‘The Pearl’

skyscraper-movie-images-13.jpg

Compared to Die Hard, which is initially rated R for intense violence, Skyscraper is almost nothing deserving an average PG-13 MPAA rating; Though a few things to known is that there is still a chunk-load amount of action including many shootouts and hand-to-hand-combat, there are a few suspenseful moments including an intense flashback to an explosion from an FBI mission blowing up little children off-screen and almost killing Will whom you see after in the hospital with lots of blood to the face and a lost-leg. In the movie there is also some infrequent but strong language such as f..k, s..t and some minor contributions such as hell, damn, Jesus Christ and Oh my God. Sexuality wise there is a few quick kisses between Sarah and Will as they are engaged and a flirting moment, but nothing of concern whatsoever.

Is It Worth Your While?

Unknown-4.jpeg

Skyscraper is not the best film you will ever see in a lifetime, but it’s not exactly the worst, now here are my reasons. For starters the film needed a lot more setting up to do. Maybe an extra thirty minutes at the beginning just to set up the plot more. Because the action pretty much started right away after only like ten minutes. To add to that, the film had a much to short  duration time of only one hour, and thirty two minutes, which is much to short for an action movie. On the bright side though, the film was thoroughly entertaining, and full of suspense. Next, the directing was overall pretty good. I thought that Dwayne Johnson, and the rest of the cast were directed very well, and were easily balanced out with a solid script. Also the movie was very logical, and it was very realistic. The best thing about the movie though are it’s impressive 3D shots which are just eye popping, and thrilling at the same time. Overall I thought that Skyscraper lacked a (good build up in) story, but was still entertaining, thrilling, and suspenseful

How Was the Cast

images.jpeg

The cast in Skyscraper was overall good. First we have Dwayne Johnson as Will Sawer. In every film that he does no matter what type of film it is, he always makes it entertaining, and even if the film is bad, the Rock is always good in it. Whether it’s fighting monsters, being Hercules or climbing a huge skyscraper. He can do it. Next we have Neve Campbell as Sarah Sawer. Now I have not seen any of her other films, but I have to say that she did a great job in this film. I thought that she had great emotional chemistry with Dwayne Johnson, and on her own as well. Third we have Roland Moller as Kores Botha. I thought that he played the role very well. As a villain he was creepy, and best of all he had one of those funny accents. All of these specific things make him the character he is. Overall I think that he did a good job in the film.

Aging ‘The Rock’

I gave this film 12+ because of mostly suspense, and peril. The main character is shown in peril thousands of feet in the air. Many guns are blasted. There are many scenes of suspense, the children are shown in deep danger, and are almost killed. Will though is a great father who will do anything to protect his family from harm.

"Summer Vacation" (Hopefully) Ends the Trilogy With an Epileptic Seizure of a Plot

So What’s The Story?

Hi, this is Keaton Marcus from Sweet and Sour Movie Reviews and today I will be reviewing third installment to the Hotel Transylvania franchise, Summer Vacation. When Mavis thinks Drac has had enough working for the hotel she decides a vacation would be reasonable, when the pack arrive on a cruise on its way to the Lost City of Atlantis, Drac falls for the captain of the ship, Ericka only to find out that she is really a Van Helsing monster hunter having the secret to destroy all monster kind.

hotel-transylvania-3-summer-vacation-2018.jpg

How Was The Cast?

With the same cast once again despite a couple of new additions, Adam Sandler returns to play main protagonist Count Dracula, Selena Gomez performs Drac’s daughter Mavis, Andy Samberg plays the husband of Mavis, Johnny and a newcomer includes Kathryn Hahn to play captain of the ship Ericka. As I said Sandler known for Grown Ups, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Just Go With It etc. as the owner of Hotel Transylvania Count Dracula. With the same old fast-paced gags as the first two installments Sandler succeeds in entertaining younger children, but still fails to create enjoyable jokes for all ages, however from watching his other flicks, the Transylvania franchise happens to be some of his better movies of his career considering he is one of the actors that relies on goofy slapstick rather than heart or wit or really anything else that makes a movie… well good. Secondly there was famous singer and now actress Selena Gomez known for Ramona & Beezus, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Spy Kids 3D: Game Over etc. as Mavis. Although the “actress” is much more convincing as a singer, like Sandler, by far this is Gomez’s best performances in her career which maybe is not saying a lot, but the slapstick jokes and ridiculous script are enough to top her other horrific roles in a truly sour career. Thirdly we saw comedic actor Andy Samberg known for Popstar: Never Stop Stopping, SNL, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Storks etc. take on the role of Mavis’ husband, Johnny. With many comedy experience for all ages plus lot’s of animated flicks, Samberg remains the only one in the cast that truly entertains all ages, however played as a big character in the first two installments, they poorly use the actor putting him in very few actually funny parts and although Samberg does have his moments he adds no significant improvements to the movie. Lastly, finally a new addition to the cast was Kathryn Hahn known for Bad Moms, Step Brothers, We're the Millers, The Visit etc. as the captain of the ship and monster hunter Ericka. Surprisingly, Hahn has a great amount of comedy experience with many talented people, but one thing this actress is just not accustomed to is acting in pure silly kids flicks with a bad script, character set-up and plot twist; Which really made the audience not really minding that she was there and in my opinion I did not care about any parts she appeared in whether it was trying to kill monsters or kissing Count Dracula.

Is It Worth Your While?

960x410_12ec9c399ce8a5f52f778b8006f2cdde.jpg

Like the cast, returning from the previous installments is director Genndy Tartakovsky known for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Sym-Bionic Titan, Samurai Jack etc. Mainly famous for TV shows, Tartakovsky did a solid job on creating the first two additions to this colorful franchise with bright animation, a talented cast and fast-paced gags; And with Summer Vacation it is mostly what fans of the franchise have come to expect: a 97-minute pure kiddy flick that has no endorsement whatsoever with anybody older which technically means that the Transylvania films are a pale comparison with other 2018 animated movie Incredibles 2 which has the power to entertain all ages. However there may be many problems with the choppy storytelling, plot and there are better animated movies to watch than this, Hotel Transylvania 3 adds another short fun-for-little-kids movie that is one of the mediocre installments to the kids animated films. Animation wise, Summer Vacation stands at a reasonable 80M which is pretty common within the franchise with Hotel Transylvania (85M) and Hotel Transylvania 2 (80M); With it’s flashy, colorful animation and solid zany with the entire span of the film, this happens to be the strongest part of Transylvania 3’s structure which can be harmful, but still acceptable in many ways proving more to be an “effects film” than a meaningful one. Story wise I have said has not been the franchise’s best focusing more on silliness than smarts with a plot that literally makes no sense and characters that are completely out of development, but considering it is one of the most ridiculous kids movies of all time, nobody can judge it for what it is: a 1 hr 37 min piece of chocolate.

Aging ‘The Drac Pack’

hotel-transylvania.jpg

Completely harmless to children, Hotel Transylvania 3 has a minimal amount of kiddy action including a silly “kraken” type monster, different types of electric monster-killer guns, a few ridiculous “scary” parts and in an early montage there includes crashes and chases but nothing that should bother younger kids. Language wise there are uses of rude humour such as fart jokes such as Johnny telling Mavis she did a “cute toot”, vampires are garlic intolerant, and a line of dialogue that includes would you like to see my parts and she has stitches in all the right places. Sexuality wise, Johnny and Mavis do cuddle and kiss, Ericka and Dracula flirt and eventually kiss, Dracula uses a tinder-like app briefly and three witches stare at Grandpa Drac’s skimpy bathing suit and follow him flirtatiously.

So What’s The Story?

After Mavis realizes that Drac might need to take a vacation. The whole gang is sent to a cruise for a monster vacation only to find out that the vacation was all a trap set by the Van Helsing family. A family who hates monsters, and will destroy them at any cost. Soon Drac must face a devastating truth, and save all of his monster friends from their doom.

Is It Worth Your While?

All I can say is that it was disappointing. Not completely awful, but still. Now here are my reasons. First of all the directing. I thought that the directing for this one was much too fast, and though it nailed a few jokes. The plot, and story were just wasted away in a jumble of mixed characters, and party’s. Compared to the first two this one was many things. Less funny, much more childish, and badly directed. The originals on the other hand were the exact opposite. What I can award it though is that younger kids will enjoy it entirely. All of the colorful animation, and slapstick humor, but it won’t at all please older audiences. Which the other two were able to do. Also the cast was not nearly as good in this one as in the last one, but I’ll get to that later. Overall I would say that Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation was cute, and suitable for younger kids, and sometimes funny, but it had a bad plot, and terrible directing.

How Was the Cast

Unknown.jpeg

The overall cast in Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation was not awful, but it was worse than the original. First we have Adam Sandler as Dracula. I thought that he was much funnier in the previous ones than in this one. Because in many of the scenes he did not have many jokes. Including the romance scenes which by the way could have been much funnier, but were just really cring. Next we have Andy Samberg as Johnny. I thought that he had a few scenes of laughter like when he talks about love while doing weird moves, but not as much as the first two, and he could have also been a bit bigger of a character because when he was bigger he made the movie better. Third we have Selena Gomez as Mavis. I thought that she was not terrible, but she did not improve that much either. I did not think that she was bad at all, but she’s the same. Fourth, and finally we have Kathryn Hahn as Ericka. I thought that her character was awful, but the acting was okay. I mean she has not played in a lot of kids comedies. So I have to give her credit for trying something new, and performing for kids.

Aging ‘The Drac Pack’

I gave this film 4+ mostly because of well, nothing. I thought that the film was completely harmless to younger kids, and they will surely enjoy the slapstick humor, and colorful animation, and beloved characters enjoyable for kids ages 4, and up. Parents be warned though because you will need a real vacation after this movie, but if your a die hard fan of Hotel Transylvania then go. Or if your child will beg you until you finally have to go. The truth is you won’t know what to expect from this movie.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" is a Much-Needed Palate Cleanser Following "Infinity War"

So What’s The Story?

Hi, this is Keaton Marcus from Sweet and Sour Movie Reviews and today I will be reviewing Marvel’s newest released sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. After the events of Ant-Man, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is under house arrest with the suit still hidden within his home, Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Lang and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) are still trying to find Hope’s “dead mother” within the Quantum Realm, but when a new villain arises known as Ghost who can move through matter, the three heroes must save their technology before it is too late.

How Was The Cast?

Ant-ManAndTheWasp-FILM-panel.jpg

In this sequel to the much praised Ant-Man, Wasp adds many new cast members among the nostalgic original group that starred in Ant-Man. Once again returning as the main hero/goofball Ant-Man is ever-so-charming Paul Rudd, the over-serious partner Hope Van Dyne now known as the Wasp is again performed by actress Evangeline Lilly, while Michael Douglas again performs as the brilliant scientist Dr. Hank Pym and like I said within the returning cast was newby actress Hannah John-Kamen as the superpowered villain known as Ghost. As I have said returning as the cocky, sly hero Ant-Man is actor Paul Rudd known for Ant-Man, Anchorman, Knocked Up, Clueless etc. Rudd, who now was multiple experiences with Marvel flicks of many different standpoints plus individual comedy flicks puts a nice blend of funny and charming into a clearly amazing superhero film with a hilarious and smart script, more characters and a better story to relate to, in my opinion I would consider this to be one of his better performances of his popular career and easily within the Marvel Cinematic Universe while adding almost perfect chemistry with surrounding cast members Mr. Rudd lightly but surely entertains you the most in the entire span of the movie. Secondly there is daughter to Dr. Pym, Hope Van Dyne played by actress Evangeline Lilly (The Hurt Locker, Ant-Man, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, Real Steel etc. otherwise known as the Wasp (Ant-Man’s partner). With a bigger part than the original, more space to try bold new acting strategies and again very well done chemistry that we rarely see anymore in action flicks, Lilly succeeds just as much as the entire movie does. Thirdly another returning character was brilliant Dr. Hank Pym played by veteran star Michael Douglas known for The Game, Wall Street, Basic Instinct, Ant-Man etc. Adding much more experience and ultimately an amazing performance to the already wonderful movie was Douglas who was funnier, more of a part and had a way greater script than before the actor overall adds to the list of improving cast members with more than enough charisma and chemistry to work with for the film. Lastly was a fresh character and villain known as Ghost played by still-new actress Hannah John-Kamen known for Tomb Raider, Ready Player One etc. Although with very little previous acting experience, Kamen proves to be much creepier, cooler and overall better villain than most other Marvel “bad-guy” outings with pretty much awesome superpowers and a complex, heartfelt and smart backstory which you do not see in most modern villains.

Is It Worth Your While?

Ant-Man-And-The-Wasp.jpg

Directing this Marvel flick was the original filmmaker Peyton Reed known for Ant-Man, Herbie, The Yes Man etc. Reed has a small but varied career of pretty much all spectacular movies exploring different genres and ages which help deftly balance a perfect combo of action sequences, special effects, story, comedy and really the entire casts wildly good performances which helps Ant-Man and the Wasp not just stand out for a Marvel movie or Peyton Reed flick it steps out of the crowd for action films in general; That being said it might not be the best-directed Marvel flick ever, but surprisingly Wasp comes out as one of them for sure giving the genre more life than just about ever. Special effects wise, the original Ant-Man film did not spend nearly as much as other bigger Marvel films standing at a reasonable 130M, continuing this was Ant-Man and the Wasp standing at a bigger, but still doable 162M being the least for 2018’s Marvel, quality wise it looked a lot better than other bigger budgeted action flicks with varied creative usage breaking off from the original flick. Storyline wise, it came out much better than most other Marvel movies with more focus, balance and a fun cast to elevate the smart story and plot almost evolving in brains for Marvel and carrying on the sort of comedic tradition the Cinematic Universe has been playing at for years now blending this film with comedy and action giving it just as much strength as other flicks of the same franchise and genre.

Aging Pym-Tech

ant-man-and-the-wasp-giant_1531484830260.jpg

With a much lighter, funnier concept than the last installments including Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp is much more appropriate than most other Marvel flicks but still with tons of fun action sequences, hand-to-hand combat, there are some intense flashbacks including a little girl with dead parents and while guns and other weapons are shown they are rarely used, like the original film there is common language such as s..t, badass, ass, goddammit, bull s..t, son of a bitch and insults include jerk, hate and idiot but are mostly okay for older kids and sexuality wise like most Marvel flicks there are many scenes with flirting (longing looks) and a couple kisses but again does not exceed PG-13 levels at all on any circumstance.

For me Ant-Man and the Wasp did not fill the whole bar, but overall it was a good MARVEL film now here are my reasons. MARVEL is known for there well structured characters, but in this I thought that the new villain Ghost was not a fully built character as many people would think. For starters she lacked a good script, and a great reason for being a villain. She was in a couple of scenes where she continuously said “I’m dying!” I was just like okay we get it your dying, and after the fifth million time of saying it I just got annoyed with her character. Don’t get me wrong she is a good actress, but this character needed more KABOOM! Next the film was much more joyful than the last one, but lacked some of the laughs that the original had to offer. Though overall I was more entertained by this one than the last one. Next the directing. The directing in this film was incredible! The cast was directed smoothly, as was the plot, and story in a way that was fast paced fun, and joyful for everyone. Next the special effects. I mean it’s people who can shrink, and grow or go through walls, and all of it was just a mind blowing experience to watch in 3D! Just seeing something like that come alive on screen was just astounding. Overall Ant-Man and the Wasp has one or two flaws, but it’s still worth your time, and money.

How Was the Cast

images-25.jpeg

The cast in Ant-Man and the Wasp was just perfect. First we have Paul Rudd as Ant-Man/Scott Lang he lit up the film entirely with his impressive chemistry with Evangeline Lilly as well as the great humor, and joy. Overall Paul Rudd has proved himself to be a fantastic actor. Next we have Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp/Hope Van Dyne. she improved a ton over the previous Ant-Man, and her chemistry with Paul Rudd was really good. Overall she suited, and played her character really well. Third we have Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym. In every film he is in he does extremely well especially in this. He worked really well with the rest of the cast as well as being funny, and emotionally powerful himself, and hopefully Michael Douglas will continue to play in great films, and do great in them as well. Fourth we have Michael Pena as Luis. Michael is just such a great actor in every film that he plays he uses his comedic charm to brighten up every movie that he is in, and in this he does it very well, and he really puts in everything that he can to make the movie great. Fifth and finally we have Hannah John Kamen as Ava/Ghost. Even though her character was bad she played the part really well, and used all of her emotional strength to try to make this character great. Still though she did a good job doing it.

Aging ‘Pym Tech’

I gave this film 10+ mostly because of violence. This is a typical MARVEL film so you pretty much know what to expect. Violence which included explosions, guns, and hand to hand combat. Also younger kids may be frightened by the new villain with a creepy costume. Most of the film though is humor, and pure joy so overall I recommend this for lovers of MARVEL, and Ant-Man.

So Wha’s The Story?

After the fourteen year long wait, comes the continuing story of the Parr family. In which Elastigirl (Helen) is sent on a mission to stop the law of banning super heros, and possibly try to stop another threat. Meanwhile Bob (Mr. Incredible) stays at home and watches the kids. Soon though at the climax they must join together as a family to stop a new threat to society.

Is It Worth Your While?

Unknown-57.jpeg

Fourteen years! We had to wait fourteen years to get an Incredibles sequel. Overall though I thought that it was worth the wait. First of all the directing. I thought that director Brad Bird did not fully catch the flare of the original, but he still directed it in a fun, and fast paced way perfect for all audiences. Also he added much more laughs into this one. I mean the original had a few, but was mostly just violence. I would say that the only problem with the film was that it had a simple, and sometimes predictable plot. Which made the film a little less interesting than it could have been. I mean just try to compare this one’s story to the original’s complex, and interesting story. The visuals in the film were a big improvement off of the original maybe it’s because the original was made in 2004, and animation back then was not as advanced as it is today, but you never know. The film is great for kids, and adults at the same time. Because it provided enough entertainment, and fun along with mind blowing visuals, and great laughs. Overall Incredibles 2 does not full live up to the original, but it still lives up to be a great adaption to the Pixar franchise.

How Was the Cast

images-22.jpeg

The voice cast in Incredibles 2 was excellent! First we have Craig T. Nelson as Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible. He did great with the original he did great with this one. He uses his incredible Bob Parr voice to stun audiences around the world for how amazing he sounds. It’s almost like he was born to be Mr. Incredible. Next we have Holly Hunter as Helen Parr/Elastigirl. Like Craig she has a great voice for her character, and suited the role amazingly well! Overall I think she’s just a great actress, and perfect for a character like this. Third we have Sarah Vowell as Violet Parr. She can get into her character almost immediately without any problems at all which makes her character very believable, and being an important character, I thought wow, she’s doing very well, and she did very well in the original as well. Fourth, and finally we have Huck Milner as Dash Parr. As a kid I thought that he matched maybe even beat the original Dash’s actor for the incredibles. Because I mean Dash was just meant to have an actor with that much energy, and in this case they thought of a kid, and overall he performed very energetically which made him perfect for the role.

Aging ‘The Parr Family’

I gave this film 7+ because overall this is a kids film. There are frequent scenes of violence like the original, but not as much. The film though is very funny, and pretty suitable for all ages it just depends, if your child has seen the original, than this is much less scary if not than just discuss it with your child depending on how old he or she is. If it’s a yes though I guarantee all of the fun, and laughs that you will be expecting.

"Incredibles" Sequel Has Modern Animation, Family-Fun, and Enough Humor

So What’s The Story?

Hi, this is Keaton Marcus from Sweet and Sour Movie Reviews and today I will be reviewing 14-year anticipated sequel to The Incredibles, Incredibles 2. After the new law set to ban all superheroes from the public and stay with their normal identity, the Parr family get a call from an organization called DevCorp who wants to bring back supers to the spotlight, and after a new and very techy villain known as Screen Slaver starts hypnotizing supers all over the world, it is time for the family to get back to the fight.

How Was The Cast?

incredibles_2_rgb-z095_25a_pub.pub16.207-h_2018.jpg

Very impressive, after the immensely long (14-year) wait for the whole cast, characters and everything to come back together including new characters making it a much bigger and more confusing film than the original which happens to be both good and bad. The cast includes Craig T. Nelson returning as Bob Parr (aka Mr. Incredible), Holly Hunter as the over-protective mom Helen Parr (aka Elastigirl), Samuel L. Jackson as the ice-powered super Lucius Best (aka Frozone) and newly produced techy villain Screen Slaver played by Catherine Keener. As I said we saw actor Craig T. Nelson (The Incredibles, Book Club, Poltergeist, Get Hard etc.) performing role Bob Parr. Reversing the plot from the original in this Disney/Pixar sequel, this way around Bob must watch the kids for Helen (Elastigirl) so she can complete her “new job.” Successfully producing enough charm, laughs and pure talent from previous films to tire the simple plot a little, Nelson might be the shadowing character in this case, but the actor still manages to create almost (however not as much) playful banter as the critically-acclaimed original film. With the movie’s amazing Box Office prediction, we are expecting more outings for Nelson as Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) despite his downward trend in talent. Secondly returning another role from the so-nostalgic original was actress Holly Hunter (The Firm, The Incredibles, The Big Sick, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice etc.) playing the mom in the famous Parr family, Helen. Hunter who is a true-veteran in acting, this is one of her weaker films, and although they have given the actress the main spotlight of the film, she still does have trouble with keeping up with her amazing performance in the original alone, much less her other great movies; Though despite a little let down from the long-anticipated performance, Hunter skillfully plays Helen Parr (Elastigirl) with a kick-butt attitude and enough playful kiddy comedy to win over die-hard fans of the original. Thirdly, again another famous character returning from the original was Bob Parr’s super friend, Lucius Best played by Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, Jurassic Park, Unbreakable, The Incredibles, Kong: Skull Island etc.) Continuing this killer cast with Jackson’s sly, funny and very cooly played charisma while making Frozone (cameo from the original) one of the main superheroes in this enormous sequel and even though Jackson’s Frozone may not be as sophisticated or smart as his other killer roles and Jackson is always the best at cameos (or small roles) director Brad Bird and Pixar/Disney successfully turn Frozone into a character that matters to the audience whilst witnessing the movie. Finally, amongst all of the new characters returning from the 2004 original is newly added villain to the story, known as Screen Slaver voiced by Catherine Keener (The Croods, Into the Wild, Get Out, Captain Phillips, Where the Wild Things Are etc.) Even though not an originally made Pixar/Disney character from the original film, Keener has done so many amazing performances in the past, that the actress pays enough scary homage and twists to the legacy of Disney villains and although the plot around her may not have the best brains others have provided the very idea of Screen Slaver is rightfully portrayed by a brilliant actress which gives some extra fuel to elevate the otherwise simple character.

Is It Worth Your While?

0_xFDd1jWKzAU7BI6v.jpg

Another nostalgic return from the 2004 original was director Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, The Iron Giant, Tomorrowland, The Incredibles, Ratatouille etc.) and not only directing the film, but also cameoing as the famous superhero costume designer Edna Mode in both films of the couplet. With some wonderful films Bird directed both animated and live-action, the filmmaker both directs and acts with skill, and although he lost some steam from the brilliant directing in the original he still brings a solid story, an ensemble cast and many nostalgic moments to overcome the ever-demanding fans highest-expectations and because of another successful Disney/Pixar outing for him, we will certainly see more and more kids flicks from director Brad Bird who clearly has a knack for animated movies with well-staged action sequences, dazzling animation and some hysterical comedy between the cast characters big and small. Special effects wise was Incredibles 2 real key to pleasing the audience upping the production budget by a whopping 108M (standing at 200M give-or-take) is one of the biggest budgets in Disney/Pixar history despite a more moderate 92M production for The Incredibles which happens to be a lot less risky, with its current Box Office performance, the film’s mega-budget and perfect chemistry between directing and acting really makes this film work and in another way saying that this 200M (maybe +) budget was really worth it. Storyline and plot wise, I have told you earlier in my review that it was a little simple, but that occasionally is the story with most Disney/Pixar flicks and while that is a little disappointing for the franchise, with the ensemble cast, wonderful animated special effects and gleeful directing by Brad Bird it almost makes the audience forget that the somewhat weak story and plot were even there.

Aging ‘The Parr Family’

incredibles-2-still-03_758_426_81_s_c1.jpg

Much less mature and violent (disappointingly) from the original, Incredibles 2 does not stray from a simple PG-rated film with minor but sometimes a little harsh on action sequences, language (as in most Disney/Pixar flicks) does not go away from the insult level and sexuality mainly includes flirting and a few kisses. Violence wise, it is a little less than the violent original but there are still plenty of fairly intense scenes including tense chases, many threats and later mass destruction to cities, the villain is somewhat creepy (has weird disturbing voice and includes many suspenseful scenes associated with him/her, the baby (Jack-Jack) comically fights and wins against a racoon (including many powers; Lasers, teleportation etc.) and there are some mentions and showings of guns and other weapons (but rarely used). Language wise, there are minor uses of crap, hell, damned and rude language such as “boys are jerks”, “superheroes suck” and a couple of mentions of oh my god. Sexuality wise, Elastigirl does wear a very revealing (perhaps too) skintight outfit, teens do have crushes, and obviously there is some flirting scenes between Bob and Helen Parr.

"Fallen Kingdom" Has Big-Budget Special Effects, but Not Enough Dino-Scares

So What’s The Story?

Hi, this is Keaton Marcus from Sweet and Sour Movie Reviews and today I will be reviewing the newest installment to the famous dinosaurs franchise, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. After the park was destroyed by the dinosaurs outbreak years ago, certain organizations attempt to literally steal and sell the animals off of their island which is about to explode, Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Nick Owen (Chris Pratt) are tricked that these dino “smugglers” are trying to save the creatures, however once they find out the plot, Nick and Claire must get the dinos out of their reach before it causes war and destruction throughout the globe.

2482_TP_00054R-rcm992x415u.jpg

How Was The Cast?

Fallen Kingdom, the newest installment to the inter-connected franchise, is the supposed sequel to Jurassic World (2015), meaning it brings back many characters and the cast members to make a bigger and ultimately better film than its “predecessor.” Reprising main character, Nick Owen the raptor trainer is Chris Pratt, secondly we saw Bryce Dallas Howard as the over-serious scientist Claire, some new characters were Franklin Webb played by Justice Smith and Ken Wheatley played by Daniella Pineda. As I said, Chris Pratt known for Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War etc. is once again returning as the famous Nick Owen for the film. Although unlike Chris Pratt’s most movies, Fallen Kingdom is not the freshest Pratt flick in most cases, the actor continues to show that he still has it for high-octane, action flicks at about 40 years of age and even though that there may be much better adventure films such as Indiana Jones than this and we were expecting much more laughs from his original script. Even though he is not good as the other male Jurassic heroes, Chris Pratt combines his sly, and smooth charisma from other films and still manages to make Nick Owen a successful, still fun character. Again reprising a role from the original Jurassic World is Bryce Dallas Howard known for Pete’s Dragon, Spider-Man 3 and the Twilight franchise as Claire the scientist. Dragging down the movie a whole lot, the writers still have not successfully completed a great compelling script for this character and still even though her acting overall has been improving over the years, Claire the character herself is nowhere near as fun and interesting than the other new and old characters in this special, mostly-fun franchise. Concluding for the actress, there is neither energy nor depth in this character, I suggest quitting this franchise before it becomes real terror for the audience. Not showing up in Jurassic World, is newly added character Franklin Webb played by Justice Smith known for Paper Towns and Every Day. More in the romantic flicks than action/adventure type movies, Justice Smith does get some credit for being a fresh, teenage actor, which mostly makes up for his overwhelming script (all though not entirely bereft of laughter) is a little clunky. However overall, as being a decent creature-feature, Smith did well despite the stuffed up action sequences and roaring special effects. Lastly, the second new character hoping to come back for the third flick in the rebooted franchise is Ken Wheatley played by Daniella Pineda known for Newlyweds and The Originals. Like Smith, Pineda also happens to be a more romantic-film-actress than a crazy adventure one, and also has only done a couple movies, although I would have to say that she was somewhat a small character, that just cannot make up for the terrible overall performance; Desperate for some attention the whole entire 2hr 10min of the movie, the actress becomes stranded between the perilous action sequences and the unbelievable CGI which creates many, many problems for not just her career, but for the entire film.

Is It Worth Your While?

jw.jpg

The Jurassic franchise has been extremely ever changing, from director-to-director and from actor-to-actor, from Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park, The Lost World), Joe Johnston (Jurassic Park III), Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) and finally now we see Juan A. Bayona (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and off of that basic timeline we saw many-ups and downs for the franchise. Although Bayona (A Monster Calls, The Impossible etc.) is not as refined as director of the originals (Steven Spielberg) and he never will, he is a large improvement over the directing of the latest installments, crushing together some decent performances, amazing CGI outings (the best in the franchise) and some nostalgic references to Jurassic Park, to overcome the shaky scripting and predictable plot making it a faithfully directed flick to the original without ever comparing to it. Special effects wise, I have raved about it being the best in the franchise with a production budget standing at 170M which is surprisingly pretty impressive for an all-out, dinosaur action filled movie with an expensive cast, even though it is the biggest out of the franchise; Jurassic Park (63M), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (73M), Jurassic Park III (93M) and Jurassic World (150M); Concluding with the CGI, the Jurassic franchise was and is still now an amazing specialist with this section. While the directing was solid and the special effects were amazing, I was not fully convinced by the film’s thin, predictable plot and story which is common for the newest installments, but even that cannot cope with the unrelentlessly amateur minds for creativeness despite more characters and action sequences than previous films in the franchise.

jurassic-world-2-blue-fallen-kingdom.jpg

Aging ‘The Fallen Kingdom’

Much more intensity and action sequences than the older ones, Fallen Kingdom is mostly okay for older Tweens and up, but is strictly not recommended to kids with loud, bombastic violence, minor blood spurts, mild jump scares, and common language, flirting etc. Violence wise there are many scenes with terror-on-screen (not horror like), gun fights, dinos devouring people, explosions and an intense fall for Isla Nublar (original island). Secondly, like most action/adventure films there are many quick scenes with bad language such as s..t, f..k, bull s..t and damn but there is nothing too bad to worry about. Lastly for sexuality, like in the newer ones, there are some flirting scenes inlcuding Claire and Nick and in one scene Claire has her hand down Nick’s shirt accidentally while sleeping.

But turns out the people that sent them only want them for another dino experiment that goes terribly wrong! Soon Owen, and Claire find themselves in more danger than they could ever imagine.

Is It Worth Your While?

Unknown-52.jpeg

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is not the best dino thrill movie, but also not the worst. First of all the directing. I thought that the directing was overall pretty good. J. A. Bayona directed the thrills very delicately, in hope of not making them too confusing which he did a fairly well job doing even if he added parts in the film that did not need to be added especially the twenty minute dinosaur selling scene which was just too boring to even witness. The special effects in the film were pretty great! I mean so were the first ones, but these created an astounding, and solidly thrilling 3D experience that you can just literally be apart of. Storywise not so great. I found the story completely predictable, and to simple to match the classic Jurassic Park plot. Overall Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has solid directing, and amazing special effects, but a predictable, and bloated story.

How Was the Cast

The overall cast in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was okay. First of all we have Chris Pratt as Owen Grady. Chris Pratt can be in any film, and bring tons of joy into it, and this film in particular needed his charming, and funny style to try, and help save the story. Next we have Bryce Dallas Howard. Still a bad actress, but she still improved off of the original Jurassic World (2015) one reason, is that she did not have to say a lot of lines during the film so that made her much less annoying to watch. Finally we have Ted Levine as Ken Wheatley overall he did fine in the film, but maybe they could have gotten someone better for the role I mean maybe if he was a postman! He could have been better, but evil scientist I mean come on he completely did not seem totally up for it.

Aging ‘The Fallen Kingdom’

I gave this film 13+ because of thrills. There are a few blood spurts along with a few intense jumpscares from dinosaurs. People are in great peril, guns are pulled, and shot at victims, and many people die. But Owen Grady is a very loyal character who will do anything to save him, and his friends or loved ones. I can tell you this though the Jurassic series just got a hell of a lot more scary. Overall I recommend this movie for younger teens.

Is It Worth Your While?

images-20.jpeg

I went to see this film with my friend, and honestly it was much better than I expected it to be. First of all the directing. I thought the directing by Gary Ross was stylish, and overall solid. I think that overall the only issue with the directing was that he made it seem like there was no problems that occurred during the heist like it seemed much to easy. This made it start leaning towards a crumbling plot, but the style of the directing ultimately saved the movie from a terrible plot. Also Gary Ross made the film really funny making it much more entertaining than most heist movies. Overall I think Gary Ross has done a good job with the film. I did not see any problems in the film, but I can tell you that it’s not the you must see film of the year. It’s fun for certain types of people really, but it’s not to die for. overall  it’s for people who look for style in movies, so if your one of those types of people than be my guest. If your not one of those people than I mean it’s your choice all I can say is that Oceans 8 may not be perfect, but it’s still fun, fast paced, and stylish.

How Was the Cast

Unknown-55.jpeg

The overall cast in Ocean’s 8 was actually quite good. First we have Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean. She suited the role quite well performing with not only style, but tons of comedy, and enjoyment for the audience I have not seen many other Ocean's films, but thanks to this one, I want to see the rest of the franchise. Next we have Cate Blanchett as Lou. She’s just a really funny actress, and I love her work in previous films. Depending on what type of film she is doing she can just bring happiness into the film especially this one. Third we have Anne Hathaway as Daphne Kluger she has improved after many years since The Princess Diaries, and since then she has adapted more to her character in every recent movie she has done up until now. So all I have to say is... what a big improvement. Fourth, and finally we have Helena Bonham Carter as Rose Weil. Overall she can suit any role thrown at her whether it’s an evil witch lady like in Harry Potter or even a fashion Designer in this. She always uses all of the talent that she has to create the character, and bring that character to life making any film that she does very entertaining in pretty much every way.

Aging ‘The 8’

I gave this film 12+ because of mostly sex stuff. There are brief kisses, one man is seen handcuffed to a bed by a woman wearing only a bra, and underwear there are constant uses of language such as f--k, and s--t, and so on. There is barely any violence I mean there is just one off camera scene of Debbie holding a knife up to her ex, but nothing else too bad, overall Ocean’s 8 is for tweens, and up.

"Ocean's 8" is a Decent Reboot/Sequel With All-Star Cast

So What’s The Story?

Hi, this is Keaton Marcus from Sweet and Sour Movie Reviews and today I will be reviewing the all-female driven reboot/sequel of the Ocean’s franchise, Ocean’s 8. When Debbie Ocean’s brother, Danny Ocean is dead she decides to pull off another amazing heist for him at the yearly Met Gala, in particular a six-pound diamond necklace called the Tuscan which is going to be on the neck of famous actress Daphne Kugler. When Debbie gets seven other women to join her they must try and get the necklace of Kugler’s neck before the Gala ends.

oceans-8-cast-women.jpg

How Was The Cast?

Imaginative, funny, creative and overall killer, those are the words that would describe the all-female cast, lead by Sandra Bullock playing Danny’s con-sister Debbie Ocean, Cate Blanchett as the crime partner of Debbie, Lou, Helena Bonham Carter performing as the over-nervous fashion designer Rose Weil and Rihanna as the sly, breezy hacker Nine Ball. As I have said leading this ensemble cast was Sandra Bullock (The Proposal, The Heat, Miss Congeniality etc.) playing sister to the con-man Danny Ocean who supposedly died years ago. Although still disappointingly far away from being as good of a heist actor compared to George Clooney, Sandra Bullock gave some laughs and lots and lots of experience from amazing former comedies and while this is her first heist flick and was a risk, there was enough comedy substance to keep Bullock afloat who will hopefully be returning to the next Ocean’s flick after it’s solid opening in the Box Office. Secondly we saw actress Cate Blanchett (Thor: Ragnarok, Carol, The Lord of the Rings franchise etc.) playing Debbie Ocean’s partner-in-crime Lou. Even though this performance is a heck-of-a-lot weaker than Blanchett’s brilliant villain (Hela) in Thor: Ragnarok, surprisingly-but-surely the actress proves to provide minimal-but-strong comedic strengths, and a sly charisma which helps the actress along the way, considering this is just-as-much a reboot as a sequel, there is no character Blanchett is supposed to be representing which gives her the upper-hand on Bullock in the film. Thirdly on the amazing female cast was Helena Bonham Carter (Sweeney Todd, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Fight Club etc.) playing the unpopular fashion designer Rose Weil. Although, Carter tends to be in dark, creepy and overall unsettling films, the actress has finally found a new, decent and strongly popular genre to come into and while not as captivating as her other films, she provides Ocean’s 8 with a truly hysterical and smart performance almost living up to some of the partners from Ocean’s Eleven which is a new-high within the cast and despite a shaky screenplay for the entire cast, Helena gives it her all. Lastly there is rapper and actress Rihanna (Battleship, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, This is the End etc.) as the smart hacker known as Nine Ball. Although, Rihanna has showed a solid debut from rapper-to-actress turn in Battleship and all of her other flicks, but in Ocean’s 8, Nine Ball is most likely the most-well-written character for this rapper/actress who surely stands out from the massive crowd who have already turned from music-to-movies while continuing her comedic career with laugh galor and splendour.

Is It Worth Your While?

landscape-1504607384-oceans-8-rihanna-sandra-bullock-cate-blanchett.jpg

The first change of directors in the Ocean’s franchise was very risky, especially considering because it is Gary Ross (The Hunger Games, Seabiscuit, The Tale of Despereaux, Free State of Jones etc.) and while the director has done some favorable movies, none of them have had any sort of relevance to Heist or Comedy genres, surprisingly Ross creates amazing, sly, and hysterical performances from it’s all-female cast and while Mr. Ross is not as refined as director Steven Soderbergh (who produced this) he proves faithful to the original franchise with a fun, but simple story and plot an ensemble cast and overall finally another successful Gary Ross-directed flick after his terrible outing for Free State of Jones with Matthew McConaughey. Expensive wise, Ocean’s 8 stands at a moderate 70M, which happens to be the least of the franchise, Ocean’s Eleven (85M), Ocean’s Twelve (110M) and Ocean’s Thirteen (85M), and while Ocean’s 8 does have an extremely expensive cast, the budget still remains less than its predecessors. As I have said earlier in this review, the story and plot was extremely predictable and happy endings were seen too clearly, it ended up being flashy and fun for all genders; Also elevated by the wonderful cast, Ocean’s 8 delivered what you expect out of an all-female heist flick plus even more giving extra-fuel for the franchise to go on longer than expected and gives audiences hope that maybe we will see these characters return for Ocean’s 9 or so.

Aging ‘The Met Gala’

rihanna-oceans-8.jpg

Ocean’s 8 normally does not stray away from it’s comedic crime sort-of genre with very minimal actions of violence, common uses of language and a few little quicks on sexuality like in the original Ocean’s franchise. Violence wise, there is almost nothing to talk about except for the fact that Debbie is a con and does occasionally threaten her ex-husband with a pocket-knife in one little scene and although it is mostly off-camera, one character vomits violently in the toilet which may-or-may-not be a real concern to parents. Language wise, there are common uses of damn, s..t, p..sies, a..holes, crap, bugger and one character receives a text that said fkng as a phrase. Sexuality wise, there are many infrequent scenes of flirting and kissing and in one scene a woman in a bra and underwear seduces a man and handcuffs him to a bed.

A Keaton Review: Solo: A Star Wars Story

By: Keaton Marcus

Genre/Sci-Fi/Action

Age Rating/10+

Lemonradar/50% sour

So What’s The Story?

Hi, this is Keaton Marcus and today I will be reviewing the newest installment in the Star Wars franchise, Solo: A Star Wars Story. On the dirty, lawless streets of Corella, a rogue named Han Solo yearns to get out of this horrible planet and fly and explore the universe. To do that Solo must perform a series of daring escapes, and to fully accomplish his future dream he must become a total outlaw of the galaxy, trusting nobody. As he meets more and more people, he forms a small crew and rebellion hoping to finally stop the wrath of the Empire.

How Was The Cast?

download-1.jpg

Casted in this Star Wars spin-off is Alden Ehrenreich playing the ultimate Lone Ranger-type role of Han Solo, secondly casted as the get-drunk-get-lucky type character Lando Callrissian is actor Danny Glover, thirdly performing Han’s girlfriend and parter-in-crime Qi’ra is Emila Clarke and lastly actor Woody Harrelson is casted to wanted-criminal Tobias Beckett. As I said portraying the main character Han Solo is Alden Ehrenreich known for Tetro, Rules Don’t Apply and Hail, Ceaser. Barely holding his own against Harrison Ford who played Solo in the original trilogy (Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi) plus some of the newer Disney spin-offs such as The Force Awakens; Ehrenreich ultimately fails to carry on the well-written, well-scripted-type funny, cunning and brave Han Solo that was originally portrayed. Again since the film was really missing out with the story, Ehrenreich had nowhere-to-run, in other words he did not have enough laughs, “actual” action sequences and a good-sense-of-slyness to elevate these problems at all and although with a few nostalgic and promising moments from the cast, Alden Ehrenreich is surely no Harrison Ford. More extremely important rebooted characters come-along with Lando Callrissian played by actor Danny Glover known for The Lazarus Effect, Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Martian. Although never able to fully emit what Billy Dee Williams did as the original Lando, surprisingly Danny Glover is completely up to the task with a decent-almost sharp script, while having just enough excitement and good scenes to fully lift Glover off the ground. Having had no real experience with these types of characters, actor Danny Glover had low expectations for my case, but the weak-Star Wars spin-off actually completed Glover’s solid performance. Playing twisty, twisty Qi’ra is Emila Clarke known for many seasons of Game of Thrones and Terminator Genisys. Though Clarke promotes female power in this and everyone of her films and TV, this was a failed performance overall, with too many twists and turns evolving around this character Clarke was never able to float amidst such madness; And although the actress does have some experience with high-octane action sequences, she was not the right pick for the actually promising character of Qi’ra, meaning the character did not deserve such a performance. Script and writing wise, Clarke was stiff on every point-considerable coming up with a serious shortage of fun and sheer energy with her character overall Clarke flunked this grade. Playing other out-law and wanted man Tobias Beckett played by Woody Harrelson known for The Hunger Games franchise, Now You See Me couplet and War for the Planet of the Apes. Combining Harrelson’s strong, southern like charisma along with the solid character, the actor massively succeeded with an unusual, creative performance that went-well along with the film.

Is It Worth Your While?

star-wars-han-solo.jpg

An interesting story however that director Ron Howard was not always the main filmmaker for this film, it was originally Lord then Miller before they were fired by Disney as Howard took over and ultimately saved the film from complete disaster. Ron Howard is currently known for The Da Vinci Code, A Beautiful Mind and Rush. However this critically-acclaimed director (most-of-the-time) had some tough flaws including a long, sometimes boring talkative flick, slapstick special effects while having to deal with a weirdly crafted story and plot line with too many twists. And although director Ron Howard manages to create some nostalgic Star Wars scenes and is better than some of the other films that he has been associated with, Howard has just completed another sour film for Star Wars and ultimately for him. Special effects wise, this was the biggest budgeted Star Wars flick of all time, standing at an estimated 250M (The Force Awakens 245M, The Last Jedi 200M, Rogue One 200M, Attack of the Clones 115M, The Phantom Menace 115M, Revenge of the Sith 113M, Return of the Jedi 32.5M, The Empire Strikes Back 18M and Star Wars 11M). Although fellow newer, big-budgeted installments to the franchise actually look like the CGI-crew put some work into it, with 250M Solo: A Star Wars Story looked like a waste-of-money compared to other Star Wars flicks with some action sequences, a couple high-octane shoot-outs and common flies into hyperspace and such, considering this I was estimating in the theatre about 120-140M which would be considered reasonable for the type of film it is. Though despite having a much-too-bloated budget, Solo did have some acclaimed, memorable Star Wars-type special effects. Story and plot wise, like I said the supposed “thrilling action-flick” did sometimes get a little long at 2hr 15 min with some very, very talky, confusing scenes (even for the franchise), though on the good side of things a couple good performances by Glover and Harrelson helped the film up most of the time with sheer charisma, even that could not stop the unrelentless choices of plot twists acossiated with Qi’ra (bad/good/bad/good) which bored the action-hungry audiences out-of-their minds.

Aging ‘The Millenium Falcon’

solo_a_star_wars_story_4k_8k_2018-wide-1.jpg

Being one of the most kid-friendly Star Wars flicks of all time, Solo: A Star Wars Story still goes to PG-13-type levels with lot’s of violent action sequences, some minor kissing, and obvious insults and a small amount of language. Violent wise, there are many shoot-outs, a very-loud war scene with explosions everywhere, and many chases through hyperspace that include obstacles such as giant (disguisting) monsters. Language wise, it was very minimal, although there were a few insults such as s..t, presumtous ass, hell, damn and scum rat. Sexuality wise, like most franchise installments does not usually apply, except for a few quick kisses between Qi’ra and Han and the creepy character Drydan Vos (Paul Bettany) does embrace Qi’ra on many occasions.

I went to see this at my friends party, and I thought it was only so so. I mean as a movie it was fine, but for Star Wars it was kind of a big step down. Yes the movie could have been much shorter than it was, but overall it's just a fun movie to watch. There is plenty of action, amazing 3D visuals, and a fun cast. One of the reasons that I brought it down was because its so slow to start off with which immediately I thought woah! Star Wars just went down the toilet. Another reason is at the end there were much too many twists that you eventually just get bored of ten minutes later. Actually the whole movie was pretty boring, and had an terribly long run time. As a director Ron Howard did a pretty good job this film even if he had to reshoot tons of stuff in the movie. The actors were directed through the scenes very well. He also made it have kind of an old school kind of look that everyone was looking for. Overall Solo: a Star Wars Story is a flawed, but fun space adventure for old time fans of the saga.

How Was the Cast

Unknown-4.jpeg

The cast of Solo was pretty good. First we have Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo. Of course he is not nearly as charming as Harrison Ford playing Han Solo, but overall I thought he did pretty well with the role. Next we have Woody Harrelson as Beckett. I thought he was a nice choice for the role, he got through the scenes quite well, and seemed emotionally balanced the whole way through. Third we have Emilia Clarke as Qi’ ra. She did the role well, and was a believable actress even if she had to get through so many stupid twists at the end. Fourth, and Finally we have Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. I have to say what a funny actor, probably the best of the film because he kept the original Lando’s charm as a young man which was quite fun to watch.

Aging ‘The Falcon’

I gave this film 9+ because… Solo was not as violent as a lot of the other Star Wars movies there have been, but it still had tons of action. Laser guns shot, many things blowing up, the usual. There are also many kisses between two of the main characters. Han though is a kind, and strong leader who will not give up on his friends or anything. Overall I think Solo: a Star Wars Story is for kids that love Star Wars movies.

A Keaton Review: Avengers: Infinity War

So What’s The Story?

Hi, this is Keaton Marcus from Sweet and Sour Movie Reviews and today I will be reviewing Marvel’s newest installment to the Avengers franchise, Avengers: Infinity War. After the devastating ultimate destruction of the planet Asgard and having the “Power Stone” acquired from the planet Xandar, Thanos and more of his adopted children hunt the other so called “Infinity Stones” so Thanos could be the most powerful god (or person) in the Universe, it is up to the Avengers to team back up and stop the titan.

How Was The Cast?

images.jpg

Analyzing the cast in this jumbo installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe we see more familiar faces return after a while, performing power hungry titan villain Thanos is well-known Western actor Josh Brolin, once again playing the important character Vision is actor Paul Bettany, reprising the role Spider-Man is young, fresh actor Tom Holland and finally performing somewhat “main character” Iron Man is actor Robert Downey Jr. As I said before returning back to the Marvel Universe is Josh Brolin, known for True Grit, Jonah Hex, Deadpool etc. playing Thanos. Considering the lousy camera angles they produced for Thanos in the trailer, Josh Brolin did his best as the “pink titan,” combining decent experience with hard-core action films, a mingling, but productive script and a somewhat scary appearance the actor did have some gas-left-in-the-tank to last the amazingly bloated 2 hr 36 mins of the overstuffed “war film” which may be an endorsement for die-hard Brolin fans. Coming back from a long pause from Marvel is actor Paul Bettany known for The Da Vinci Code, A Beautiful Mind, Legend etc. playing small, but big-character Vision. Like all the actors in the Cinematic Universe, Bettany tries extremely well to play a believable superhero, Vision (not portrayed as a “main character in other films”) gets a real story for the actor to work with, becoming well-noticed was risky after so many other movies ignored him (annoyingly), but actor Paul Bettany handled the sudden recognition very well bringing his powerful, very emotional story onto the big-screen for everyone to listen to, the final result is he succeeds massively. Thirdly, as I said playing the newly reprised “plucky, funny” Spider-Man is actor Tom Holland known for Locke, Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Lost City of Z etc. Remembering other Holland Marvel installments the actor is a supposed “genius” for the role Spider-Man, and the final result is absolutely yes, he was truly amazing, funny and acting on a brilliant script; Talking back to Infinity War it was a different story, while providing some stray laughs throughout the movie with a good sense of charm, Tom Holland was just not given enough to work with losing valuable steam that he had so well in other superhero films; Most likely because of such a serious concept in the movie, the actor had no choice but to play out the plain parts in this bloated, CGI-fueled despite occasionally thrilling threequel. Robert Downey Jr. known for Zodiac, Iron Man, Tropic Thunder etc. returns as most-important character Iron Man for the film. 10 years since the original Iron Man that is quite some time, and yet actor Robert Downey Jr. has proved that he still had it through all these years of the growing succession of the Marvel franchise, putting together a genius, funny, smart script and using previous superhero talents to create a well-paid role that truly makes Iron Man great again as one of the other main characters.

avengers-3-infinity-war.jpg

Is It Worth Your While?

Following two other directorial debuts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are the Russo Bros, Anthony and Joe otherwise known for You, Me and Dupree, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War etc., though however risky for the Russo Bros to direct a third film in an already major developed franchise (formally directed by Joss Whedon), they proved to be useful with enough experience. Like I said just before Anthony and Joe Russo have had valuable time working with the Marvel Universe directing two Captain America installments (both were amazing), now coming to this was pretty similar, adhering to usual Marvel formula, amazing action/special effect sequences and a brilliant cast; However not everything went so well with Infinity War, the renowned superhero directors let many disappointing things slip by including too many special effect extravaganzas, a somewhat decent but flimsy narrative and a story that is sometimes way too bloated to add in an Action/Adventure flick (considering the 2 hr 36 mins run time), on the good side though despite some flaws, the Russo brothers managed to improve on both other Avengers installments considerably in many ways and still produced another thinly written, but sometimes very thrilling and exciting installment to the Marvel Universe. Coming after the jumbo budget Marvel’s The Avengers brought in (220M) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (costing 279.9M), it just got bigger with third installment Avengers: Infinity War costing a risky 300M on production with a huge cast, desperate special effects and amazing set pieces, according to that shocking information the Marvel franchise does have a specialty for CGI-fueled films; However the newest release set a new bar, becoming the highest budgeted Marvel film to date with snappy visually pleasing eye candy action sequences (rolling over smarts in the film), believable CGI, wonderfully realistic and imaginative set pieces and an all-star cast, the entire movie does seem the the visuals are more important than the actual film, but it does give infinite fun to those looking for action. Story and plot wise, I was not expecting much thinking about how the heck the directors were going to put 76 characters into one film, this was both a major problem and very impressive with me, packing all of those tales and characters into the movie was certainly bold, but it somehow did not turn out as great as expected with special effects and action tearing through the movie much, much too often and a widely bloated run time that bores you half the time you are sitting in the theatre wearing 3D-glasses; On the good side though, the storyline was very interesting, cannot be accused of a lack of ideas and was “occasionally” emotional and thrilling which may-or-may-not be much of an endorsement considering the high-bar set by other superior Marvel movies.

images-1.jpg

Aging 'The Infinity Stones'

Scanning the film, this was considerably similar compared to other recent Marvel films such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Black Panther, with lot’s of Sci-Fi action sequences, minor flirting and kisses and formulaic language, with one exception, this jumbo-budgeted superhero flick is much more mature and unrelentlessly scarier than other typical Marvel installments. Starting with any serious violence there are many explosions, Thanos massacres entire cities for power, important deaths are long and emotional, there is common laser-gun fights, the villains are portrayed as much more “no-mercy” kind-of-people. (killing women and children like there is nothing to lose) There is also common, usual uses of s..t, ass, a..hole, douchebag, jokey use of nut-sack, dammit, d...hole, hell, crap and screwed, while this is more-or-less fine for children who have seen mature action films, it is a little more than your usual superhero flick. Like other installments to the franchise there is many little flirts and kisses along with the film including a scene that is implied after sex, more and more kisses and flirting scenes.

Is It Worth Your While?

Unknown-40.jpeg

It’s hard to imagine that MARVEL has created a whole cinematic universe in just ten years! And this time MARVEL has really done it. Avengers: Infinity War was outstandingly made. First of all The directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo did an outstanding job creating this film because they made a perfect balance of all of it’s characters in all of the emotion, humour and thrills. And it is really hard to put tons of characters in a film like that without creating a proper narrative for each one, but the whole film just makes it perfect. Next the effects were just outstandingly shown to the eye, and were careful of coming too close to a brainless blockbuster’s type of look. Even though having tons of characters mixed together may seem confusing, in this it’s not! All of these important characters in a fantastic plot, and story mixed with pure heart action and comedy. All I have to say is great job MARVEL! You have done it again. I would say the two only flaw's with this film is that at the end you have trouble taking in everything you just saw, It’s like in Kung Fu Panda 3 2016, when the bull blows up because of too much power. Well that’s how I felt, and the end credit scene was just confusing and unsatisfying. But overall I sobbed I laughed, and was thrilled by this great MARVEL movie. Like Black Panther don’t walk run to see this great film.

How Was the Cast

Unknown-41.jpeg

The cast in Infinity War was excellent. First we have Robert Downey Jr. As Tony Stark/Iron Man, Ah, the man who started it all ten years ago. Over the years in MARVEL Robert has become more dramatic and funny which is exactly what I expected from him. Next we have Josh Brolin as Thanos what a creepy villain I can tell you that. While being the real deal villain Josh Brolin also brought emotion into the character (more than I expected), Overall he is just a great actor, and was the perfect actor for the role. Third we have Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America. Of course most people know that he wants to walk away from Captain America forever and become a director. Which is cool, but sad at the same time because he is just so great as Captain America, and he delivered a pretty great performance in this movie. Fourth we have Chris Hemsworth as Thor. After his stunning performance in Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth does it again with a hilarious performance in this movie. Fifth we have Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. After a hilarious performance in Spider-Man Homecoming, he gets more serious of an actor in this, and ending with a stunningly dramatic last performance at the end gives an award for another stunning performance by Mr. Holland. Sixth we have Chris Pratt as Peter Quill. Him and the rest of the Guardians brought most of the comedy to the movie which is what I expected after his charming performance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 overall Chris Pratt is just a great actor with a great performance in this movie. Finally we have Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. He is back for MARVEL, and had a pretty great performance, even better than his role in Doctor Strange he had a mysterious performance in this and hopefully in other MARVEL movies to come.

Aging ‘The Infinity Stones’

I gave this film 13+ because this film was more violent and dramatic than the previous MARVEL movies. There were many explosions, gunshots  wars between Aliens and MARVEL characters which consist of lot’s of close up fighting. There are many emotional deaths in the movie which include tears. Also Thanos and his Black Order are very creepy characters, and kill innocent people just for their own desires. But all of the MARVEL characters use courage and teamwork to solve problems that they may face even if they need to fight.

A Keaton Review: Borg Vs. McEnroe

By: Keaton Marcus

v1-1.jpg

Is It Worth Your While?

By the summer of 1980, Björn Borg is the best tennis player on and off of the court with four Wimbledon championships and the only thing standing in the way of his fifth trophy is very highly talented, but extremely brash and rude American tennis player John McEnroe who is rookie and is looking for his first Wimbledon; With only a shaky three days till the big championship Borg trains hard in his fancy home in Monaco, but McEnroe’s sheer confidence continues to break Borg’s almost unshakable attitude.

How Was The Cast?

download-1.jpg

Scanning the cast members we see actor Sverrir Gudnason performing four-time Wimbledon champ Björn Borg, surprisingly we see a grand return from actor Shia LaBeouf playing John McEnroe, the swearing, confident American rookie tennis player looking for his first Wimbledon and finally Stellan Skarsgard to perform Borg’s overprotective and prepared coach, Lennart Bergelin. Like I said driving the extremely important and valuable role of Björn Borg is actor Sverrir Gudnason on his first feature movie after doing TV flick Wallander with Kenneth Branagh. Considering Gudnason’s Borg is more portrayed as the main character in Borg Vs. McEnroe, the actor did have much more considerable room to play the amazing tennis player, colliding a solid narrative, good talent and the right fitting character Gudnason was definitely able to conjure up massive successes in his performance hitting almost every bar that needs to be hit in order to perform a believable Borg. Playing almost side character is actor Shia LaBeouf (Transformers franchise, Surfs Up, Eagle Eye, Disturbia etc.) who features a grand return to the movies life as John McEnroe. This performance features some of LaBeouf’s best work in a long time, giving an all-out realistic McEnroe is extremely hard, but LaBeouf is exactly perfect for the role giving an outrageous amount of heart, providing laughs (with lot’s and lot’s of swearing) and using his previous strong talents of former films to make a well-directed, well-scripted, despite-little-to-work-with perspective on the ridiculous character of John McEnroe. Performing the light, but still considerably important character of Lennart Bergelin, Borg’s coach and mentor is actor Stellan Skarsgard known for Good Will Hunting, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Thor trilogy and The Avengers. Skarsgard really did not give it his all, he could have been the Coach Mickey of tennis, the actor did have his moments with Borg, but taking how good the performance could have been in perspective, this was massively disappointing featuring a slummy script and almost no temper, no heat which what should have styled the movie even more was not shown quite at all.

Is It Worth Your While?

borgvsmcenroe-still2.jpg

Directing this movie is Danish documentarian Janus Metz who now directs his first-feature film, Borg Vs. McEnroe, after doing first TV series True Detective from 2014-2015, a considerably shaggy choice for directing such an important film, but overall still ended up a well-told perspective on the topic of tennis. Bringing the sport of tennis into wonderful cinematic fashion, Metz was a risky, but firm choice for the film creating a smart, fun story, giving the cast room to work with and most of all giving a real soul into the film. Also a magnificent start on real filmmaking, Janus Metz proved himself that he has talent, however despite the deep narrative and storytelling there were some common flaws such as the such shortness of the suspenseful, but surprisingly shallow final match between Björn Borg and John McEnroe and the disappointing fact that director Janus Metz plays it a little safe. The beginning of the movie starts with a title card explaining the grueling rivalry between the two titans of tennis, Borg and McEnroe which happens to be a little boring, but helpful along the movie, the storyline and plot sometimes are a little bloated and muddled, but it succeeds of telling the story of winning, hard work and never giving up with a great cast, directing, suitable narrative on the film’s side which helps you move along with the 1 hr 47 mins of almost a perfect way of telling tennis, in other words a home run compared to other Sports movies much less for tennis films.

Aging ‘Wimbledon Championships’

Borg-vs-Mcenroe.jpg

Extremely low on violence, middling on sexuality and high on language, Borg Vs. McEnroe will only be captivating to young teens, as it may bore younger kids. Violence wise, there is nothing to worry about despite some common rages with swearing on the tennis pitch from John McEnroe and a man does throw a teen boy to the ground while seeming uncontrollably angry at the kid. Something to really be concerned (but not too worrying) is about the language which is extremely high and used in many scenes by tennis player John McEnroe, common uses include f..k, s..t, motherf….r, bulls..t, t.ts, bastard, hell, crap and damn. Featuring mild, but some sense of sexuality shows brief scenes of topless women dancing at clubs, an engaged couple gets undressed for bed (nothing graphic shown), a man fiddles with women’s breasts at a public place, a man in the shower with nude butt shown and a teen has an inappropriate poster hung in his room.

A Keaton Review: Rampage

So What’s The Story?

Hi, this is Keaton Marcus from Sweet and Sour Movie Reviews and today I will be reviewing this year’s video-game adaptation of the 80’s arcade game, Rampage starring Dwayne Johnson. When George, a rare albino gorilla gets infected with a certain pathogen from the Athena 1 crew in space, the animal gets more aggressive, faster and smarter, when primatologist David Okoye (Johnson) finds out he tracks three animals (a wolf, gator and George the monkey) are headed to Chicago to destroy the entire city.

How Was The Cast?

An unusual thing for Video-Game adaptations is they do not tend to have a talented star, Rampage promotes well-known star Dwayne Johnson at the wheel as primatologist (animal’s best friend) David Okoye, more cast include positives to diversity including side-character Naomie Harris as Dr. Kate Caldwell, ‘the supposed girl’ to cure everything. Johnson, surprisingly was fully able to take his comedic strengths and use them for laughs in this brainless Blockbuster of mass destruction, I think Mr. Johnson is exactly the guy you would want to see takedown mutant ‘godzilla like monsters’ in this particular movie. Dwayne Johnson is a fun actor promoting roles in Disney’s Moana, the buddy-action comedy Central Intelligence, the disaster film San Andreas, the adventure movie Journey 2 and now he proves himself that he fits just as well in a monster movie filled with special effects galore. And even although the trudgy script dragged the actor around, Dwayne Johnson, in other words made this film actually watchable. As I said before performing other character, Dr. Kate Caldwell was actor Naomie Harris known for some OO7, the drama Moonlight, the swashbuckling Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, again Harris promotes more diverse themes into the movie, as she plays a smart scientist who is just as important or more as other characters. Like Johnson, Ms. Harris has showed talent in every one of her movies, in a monster movie it was a totally different story, Naomie Harris was drowned in terrible directing, story and script and was barely enough to tread back up through the entire span of the movie on the laughable dialogue (actually funny) coming with terrible character background and development. Performing half-villain, half-hero Agent Russell is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, taking his roles from Watchmen, Desierto and the supernatural hit TV series The Walking Dead the actor was half-able to create some chemistry with Johnson and Harris, but ended up fiddling with an outrageous accent, cocked 'cowboy like' head and found battling awful screenplays the entire time.... well monsters too, my point is that Morgan was not right for this kind of movie, and although he could have been ready with his particular career of action and zombies, Mr. Morgan was a miss for the entire film.

Is It Worth Your While?

croc-1059140.jpg

Directing this 1 hr 47 mins of CGI madness is filmmaker Brad Peyton who is known for many Dwayne Johnson action flicks such as San Andreas and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, also directing kids sequel Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore and Horror movie Incarnate. As you saw, Peyton has a very diverse career shall we say not exactly good though, the director has failed at almost all genres he tries including this. Brad Peyton almost single handedly ruined the entire film by making it so laughably bad, that it was actually a fun, occasional CGI thrill ride. It obviously did not live up to the expectations set by great city monster flicks such as the original King Kong or Godzilla, but it proves itself to be a amazingly entertaining diversion for the classics all the way from giant gators eating people to George (hence Curious George) the monkey giving the sex symbol and middle finger to various people (hysterically funny); However taking in a story that cannot decide to be a romance, comedy, or drama and a script that almost kills off all the actors Brad Peyton was overall not the best choice for a monster flick, “although I appreciate him trying.” Something that this movie was made for was special effects and CGI, this was what we were expecting and this was what he got, hardcore special effects of a giant gator mutant knocking down buildings, George the giant ‘King Kong’ like monkey eating people on top of buildings and a flying wolf that shoots spikes (based on the trailer). Focusing on a 120M production budget, they used it well creating a fun world of mass destruction of cities for monster fans (like me) and although again not reaching up to other CGI monsters such as 2014’s Godzilla, Rampage proved well on creating just enough cool special effects and fun to half-override the terrible plot and story. Why was the film not a complete slam dunk you may ask? Why was it not 'Rock/King Kong' sort of film? Well, there were many times that Rampage gave just enough fun to take down it's ludicrous plot that the movie goers were expecting, but the film undercuts it's emotional standpoint to the film unlike the beautiful feeling when you watch King Kong, obviously the film leaves out any potential smarts that could have been inserted here and there, and really overall the storyline and plot sinks the most in this movie however leaving the freedom for filmgoers to have some fun (if patient), but ultimately does not match up to superior movies of the genre.

Aging ‘George the Monkey’

rampage_thumb.jpg

Ranging in violence, sex and language to other movies of the genre such as Cloverfield, King Kong, and Godzilla. Violence wise there are many non-realistic killings with very few gore or blood, the intensity of loud music and destruction from the various monsters and the army fighting back and many scenes of mass gunfire, explosions accompanied with bad language. There are many common uses of s..t, a-hole, mother f...er, goddamn, jesus christ and god and the gorilla uses the middle-finger in sign language as a joke. As in many other big-budget monster movies, there is barely any time to focus on sexuality, and although in one scene George the monkey sticks up the sex symbol ‘index finger through a fist’, it will fly past kids’ heads like nothing even happened (also for joke reasons).

So What’s The Story?

Rampage tells the story of science gone wrong. Using genetic editing a company called Energyne who created monsters out of animals by using a mysterious gas that can mutate DNA. Now it’s up to David Okoye and his friend to save Chicago from three gigantic rampaging monsters, and he must find a cure to save his ape friend George.

Is It Worth Your While?

Unknown-24.jpeg

Rampage was just so bad… that it was just so good, but before I give compliments. I have some questions for the director. 1. Why was the wolf a flying squirrel crossed with a porcupine, and George was completely normal? 2. How did the alligator get all the way from the Everglades, and travel all the way up the coast to Chicago in 24 hours? 3. Why did Harvey Russell use words like grandpappy in such a old school voice? 4. Why were the two (terrible) bad guys in a huge scientific building with no extras, even in the lab? 5. Why did the rat show up in the beginning, because to me that was just stupid so just why? 6. Why didn’t the three creatures not destroy anything on their way to Chicago, because they would have to pass through many villages and cities to get their. 7.  At the end why did Dwayne Johnson continuously yell Ya! When he was shooting the crocodile? 8. Why was the blackman codenamed “Black Dog 6” and the airforce called “Whiteman Air force base” was your writer being racist or funny? 9. Why at the end did George stick up the finger because he faked his death, and showed a sexual gesture with his hands, I mean what was the reason honestly? 10. And finally why did you end the movie so quickly because you can, no you should not make a second one right? Overall I think you get that the movie was the three B’s a Boom Brainless Blockbuster, but the movie to me was actually really fun to see. For one I loved the humour from Dwayne Johnson I mean he can do anything in a movie from singing in Moana to battling 30 foot animals, for every role he does he can’t fail. I also loved the special effects because they were great for a 3D experience. Also even if the story was dumb Dwayne Johnson and special effects made you not care whether the story was dumb or not. I would say great job on special effects and humour but terrible story that could have been better.

How Was the Cast

Unknown-23.jpeg

The cast in Rampage was mixed quality. First we have Dwayne Johnson as Davis Okoye. Like I said he can do pretty much any role he is signed up for, and in this he brought lot’s of comedy for Dwayne Johnson fans will expect after his recent role in ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle'. Next we have Naomie Harris as Dr. Kate Caldwell. This is the first film I ever saw her and I would say good job. I thought she was more than up to the task for the role because she could really become the character and make you believe she was the character. Third we have Malin Akerman as Claire Wyden. Terrible just terrible as a bad guy and an actor in general, but I can tell you this thank god George ate her like a taco in the movie. Fourth we have Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Harvey Russell. He was okay it was just that voice that got me worried he used like this old cowboyish texas tone of voice that made him sound a little annoying, but it is funny to hear I thought. Fifth and finally we have Jake Lacy as Brett Wyden. Like Malin terrible, just to watch him was so annoying, and I thought the director thought this to because he randomly smashed Brett with a piece of debris… thank god.

Aging ‘The Rampage’

I gave this film 13+ mostly because of violence buildings are destroyed by giant rampaging monsters people are in peril, and their is one brief scene of animal abuse. There were many guns and bombs shot and dropped. There is some blood when people are killed or shot. There is one frightening scene in space at the beginning with lots of tension and one jumpscare. But Davis Okoye cares about animals and his friends, and will do anything (even single handedly try to destroy a 100 foot long alligator) to save his companions. Overall I think this film is for young teens.
