So What’s The Story?
After discovering that Hopes mom may still be alive in the quantum realm. Scott Lang is called out of the simple life to help Hope, and Hank to bring her home, and stop a new villain known as Ghost. Will Ant-Man (Scott), and his new partner The Wasp (Hope) be able to stop her from interfering with the project or will Hopes mom be lost forever?
Is It Worth Your While?
For me Ant-Man and the Wasp did not fill the whole bar, but overall it was a good MARVEL film now here are my reasons. MARVEL is known for there well structured characters, but in this I thought that the new villain Ghost was not a fully built character as many people would think. For starters she lacked a good script, and a great reason for being a villain. She was in a couple of scenes where she continuously said “I’m dying!” I was just like okay we get it your dying, and after the fifth million time of saying it I just got annoyed with her character. Don’t get me wrong she is a good actress, but this character needed more KABOOM! Next the film was much more joyful than the last one, but lacked some of the laughs that the original had to offer. Though overall I was more entertained by this one than the last one. Next the directing. The directing in this film was incredible! The cast was directed smoothly, as was the plot, and story in a way that was fast paced fun, and joyful for everyone. Next the special effects. I mean it’s people who can shrink, and grow or go through walls, and all of it was just a mind blowing experience to watch in 3D! Just seeing something like that come alive on screen was just astounding. Overall Ant-Man and the Wasp has one or two flaws, but it’s still worth your time, and money.
How Was the Cast
The cast in Ant-Man and the Wasp was just perfect. First we have Paul Rudd as Ant-Man/Scott Lang he lit up the film entirely with his impressive chemistry with Evangeline Lilly as well as the great humor, and joy. Overall Paul Rudd has proved himself to be a fantastic actor. Next we have Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp/Hope Van Dyne. she improved a ton over the previous Ant-Man, and her chemistry with Paul Rudd was really good. Overall she suited, and played her character really well. Third we have Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym. In every film he is in he does extremely well especially in this. He worked really well with the rest of the cast as well as being funny, and emotionally powerful himself, and hopefully Michael Douglas will continue to play in great films, and do great in them as well. Fourth we have Michael Pena as Luis. Michael is just such a great actor in every film that he plays he uses his comedic charm to brighten up every movie that he is in, and in this he does it very well, and he really puts in everything that he can to make the movie great. Fifth and finally we have Hannah John Kamen as Ava/Ghost. Even though her character was bad she played the part really well, and used all of her emotional strength to try to make this character great. Still though she did a good job doing it.
Aging ‘Pym Tech’
I gave this film 10+ mostly because of violence. This is a typical MARVEL film so you pretty much know what to expect. Violence which included explosions, guns, and hand to hand combat. Also younger kids may be frightened by the new villain with a creepy costume. Most of the film though is humor, and pure joy so overall I recommend this for lovers of MARVEL, and Ant-Man.
