So What’s The Story?

Will, and his family are the first to live in the upper half of the tallest, and most advanced building in the world, the Pearl located in Hong Kong. Until things go terribly wrong, a terrorist named Kores Botha, and his team who seek revenge on the creator of the tower, burn the upper half of the building, and when Will discovers that his family is still trapped inside, he must decide how far he will go to save his family from the flames.

Is It Worth Your While?

Skyscraper is not the best film you will ever see in a lifetime, but it’s not exactly the worst, now here are my reasons. For starters the film needed a lot more setting up to do. Maybe an extra thirty minutes at the beginning just to set up the plot more. Because the action pretty much started right away after only like ten minutes. To add to that, the film had a much to short duration time of only one hour, and thirty two minutes, which is much to short for an action movie. On the bright side though, the film was thoroughly entertaining, and full of suspense. Next, the directing was overall pretty good. I thought that Dwayne Johnson, and the rest of the cast were directed very well, and were easily balanced out with a solid script. Also the movie was very logical, and it was very realistic. The best thing about the movie though are it’s impressive 3D shots which are just eye popping, and thrilling at the same time. Overall I thought that Skyscraper lacked a (good build up in) story, but was still entertaining, thrilling, and suspenseful

How Was the Cast

The cast in Skyscraper was overall good. First we have Dwayne Johnson as Will Sawer. In every film that he does no matter what type of film it is, he always makes it entertaining, and even if the film is bad, the Rock is always good in it. Whether it’s fighting monsters, being Hercules or climbing a huge skyscraper. He can do it. Next we have Neve Campbell as Sarah Sawer. Now I have not seen any of her other films, but I have to say that she did a great job in this film. I thought that she had great emotional chemistry with Dwayne Johnson, and on her own as well. Third we have Roland Moller as Kores Botha. I thought that he played the role very well. As a villain he was creepy, and best of all he had one of those funny accents. All of these specific things make him the character he is. Overall I think that he did a good job in the film.

Aging ‘The Rock’

I gave this film 12+ because of mostly suspense, and peril. The main character is shown in peril thousands of feet in the air. Many guns are blasted. There are many scenes of suspense, the children are shown in deep danger, and are almost killed. Will though is a great father who will do anything to protect his family from harm.
