So What’s The Story?

Rampage tells the story of science gone wrong. Using genetic editing a company called Energyne who created monsters out of animals by using a mysterious gas that can mutate DNA. Now it’s up to David Okoye and his friend to save Chicago from three gigantic rampaging monsters, and he must find a cure to save his ape friend George.

Is It Worth Your While?

Rampage was just so bad… that it was just so good, but before I give compliments. I have some questions for the director. 1. Why was the wolf a flying squirrel crossed with a porcupine, and George was completely normal? 2. How did the alligator get all the way from the Everglades, and travel all the way up the coast to Chicago in 24 hours? 3. Why did Harvey Russell use words like grandpappy in such a old school voice? 4. Why were the two (terrible) bad guys in a huge scientific building with no extras, even in the lab? 5. Why did the rat show up in the beginning, because to me that was just stupid so just why? 6. Why didn’t the three creatures not destroy anything on their way to Chicago, because they would have to pass through many villages and cities to get their. 7.  At the end why did Dwayne Johnson continuously yell Ya! When he was shooting the crocodile? 8. Why was the blackman codenamed “Black Dog 6” and the airforce called “Whiteman Air force base” was your writer being racist or funny? 9. Why at the end did George stick up the finger because he faked his death, and showed a sexual gesture with his hands, I mean what was the reason honestly? 10. And finally why did you end the movie so quickly because you can, no you should not make a second one right? Overall I think you get that the movie was the three B’s a Boom Brainless Blockbuster, but the movie to me was actually really fun to see. For one I loved the humour from Dwayne Johnson I mean he can do anything in a movie from singing in Moana to battling 30 foot animals, for every role he does he can’t fail. I also loved the special effects because they were great for a 3D experience. Also even if the story was dumb Dwayne Johnson and special effects made you not care whether the story was dumb or not. I would say great job on special effects and humour but terrible story that could have been better.

How Was the Cast

Unknown-23.jpeg

The cast in Rampage was mixed quality. First we have Dwayne Johnson as Davis Okoye. Like I said he can do pretty much any role he is signed up for, and in this he brought lot’s of comedy for Dwayne Johnson fans will expect after his recent role in ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle'. Next we have Naomie Harris as Dr. Kate Caldwell. This is the first film I ever saw her and I would say good job. I thought she was more than up to the task for the role because she could really become the character and make you believe she was the character. Third we have Malin Akerman as Claire Wyden. Terrible just terrible as a bad guy and an actor in general, but I can tell you this thank god George ate her like a taco in the movie. Fourth we have Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Harvey Russell. He was okay it was just that voice that got me worried he used like this old cowboyish texas tone of voice that made him sound a little annoying, but it is funny to hear I thought. Fifth and finally we have Jake Lacy as Brett Wyden. Like Malin terrible, just to watch him was so annoying, and I thought the director thought this to because he randomly smashed Brett with a piece of debris… thank god.

Aging ‘The Rampage’

I gave this film 13+ mostly because of violence buildings are destroyed by giant rampaging monsters people are in peril, and their is one brief scene of animal abuse. There were many guns and bombs shot and dropped. There is some blood when people are killed or shot. There is one frightening scene in space at the beginning with lots of tension and one jumpscare. But Davis Okoye cares about animals and his friends, and will do anything (even single handedly try to destroy a 100 foot long alligator) to save his companions. Overall I think this film is for young teens.
