This movie was equivalent to me and my older brother wrestling for absolutely no reason. The story was just messed up, and had no twists or turns to keep you entertained. Even with the great effects I felt bored, compared to the original Pacific Rim (61% Sweet/Sour) this was a piece of crap in almost every way. You could tell from the moment the evil Kaiju Jaegers attacked the base that it was going to be a bad experience. With not just the story, but the cast as well. The directing of the film was only okay but it felt like it was written by monkeys. The scenes had terrible dialogue, and were a big mess of special effects. Plus the story kept changing every thirty minutes. First it was like flight academy than some scientist mumbo jumbo and finally a long and boring fight to the finish. I think overall if your a guy/gal looking for a CGI infested film be my guest, but if your someone with actual taste in movies, and believes in plots than go home! This film is toxic!!!

How Was the Cast

The cast in Pacific Rim: Uprising was just bad. First we have John Boyega as Jake Pentecost. In his previous role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi you could tell that he was a good actor, not in this he wasn't. Even with his booming voice of a general he could not succeed. Partly because the script was bad and partly because he was not meant for the role. Next we have Scott Eastwood son of legendary actor Clint Eastwood but even with his good looks he did not inherit the talent. He was so stiff, and used terrible dialogue even more terrible than it had to be. Overall not a very bright future for this young actor. Third we have Cailee Spaeny as Amara Namani. From the moment she entered you could tell that she was a disaster she made bad scripting even worse, and just could not suit the role well enough so that you would believe in her. Overall terrible casting for her and not a good future for this young actress. Fourth we have Burn Gorman as Dr. Hermann. He was okay but needed more  Overall needed to be so much better. Fifth and finally we have Charlie Day as Dr. Newton. As a bad guy terrible, as a man playing dumb, good overall a terrible performance from him.

Age Logic

I gave this film 11+ because of mostly violence. Buildings are destroyed by monsters and giant robots. A few guns are pulled, and shot. Many explosions, lots of fire and CGI, but Jake Pentecost is a good leader who never gives up on his teammates or himself. This is why I think this film is for older kids to tweens.
