Quality
Me and my brother were dying to see this film, and were overall satisfied by it. I thought that the effects were cool, and the cast was strong. Also the action and suspense were great in the movie. Plus the script was pretty good for most characters, and the overall plot was entertaining. But on the negative side they could have had so much less gore! It was like a zombie fest during the film. But not as much as the previous installment. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. Which was disgusting, and overall just a messed up film. Also I think it could have been a bit shorter than it was. Because after a while you’re like when will it end and why was it this long, and boring, but when you walk out of the theatre you do feel solidly entertained by the film. The film was also so different from the first one The Maze Runner. So making the film entirely different from the first is really hard. So director Wes Ball (who by the way is a beginner) had a challenging job, but he did a satisfying job on it. So overall the film was flawed but overall okay. I recommend this film for anyone who wants to watch a solid popcorn flick.
How Was the Cast
Overall I thought the cast in Maze Runner: The Death Cure was overall decent. First up we have Dylan O’brien as Thomas he was probably the strongest of the cast because he fit the character perfectly. He was serious and confident during his scenes, and put a lot of effort in to the action sequences. Next we have Thomas B. Sangster as Newt. He had some tough scenes but got through them surprisingly well. He put a lot of effort into emotion and the chemistry between the characters. Next we have Ki Hong Lee as Minho. his character was very interesting through the film, and he played the part perfectly summing up as a great young actor. Finally we have Kaya Scodelario as Theresa. Like the previous films she’s stiff with the emotion, and just overall acting. Plus her voice is like a robot, and I just think that they could have could have casted a better actress for this role. These people will never be superstars but they are solidly entertaining to watch.
Age Logic
This film was very gory, and there were several scenes of zombified humans known as cranks, and things get really bloody for them. There are many gunfights, and explosions, and an important character asks his friend to kill him. Plus the plot is scary to think about for younger ones. But the role models are strong. Thomas is brave and relies on his friends for help. Overall I think that this film is meant for tweens to younger teens. Because of the gore, and violence presented in the movie.
