So What’s the Story?
Jackson Maine a world famous rock star finds, and falls in love with a struggling artist named Ally. As soon as he starts pushing her towards fame Jackson’s career starts dwindling down because of drugs, and drinking. Pretty soon there relationship together starts dwindling down as well, and Jackson must make a decision that will not just change his career, but his life as well.
Is It Worth Your While?
I found this film to be the most incredible I have ever seen in a long time, and because of this, I am proud to call it my all time favorite movie, but I have my reasons, here they are. First of all the directing from Bradley Cooper was unflawed, and amazing. You could tell that from scenes like when Jackson (Bradley Cooper) tells his older brother that he had always looked up to him, and nobody else, but what he does not see, but we do is his older brother crying as he drives away. That’s what a true director wants to capture they want the audience to see special things that the main character cannot see. Next I thought that the filming was pretty incredible. There were many impressive shots of the country, and great shots of them singing together. Also who knew that having a musical with not too much music could be so great! Another reason was that the singing was incredible, and I actually never knew Bradley Cooper could sing as well as he did. Plus Lady Gaga was phenomenal throughout the entire movie. Overall I think it was just great to see an ensemble cast like that to do something incredible together. With amazing directing, and incredible singing voices, A Star is Born is easily on of the great’s.
How Was the Cast?
Like I said earlier the cast was phenomenal throughout the entire film. First we have Bradley Cooper as Jackson Maine. Like I said I could not believe what an incredible singing voice he has, and playing a Marvel character Rocket the Racoon which is pretty much all I have seen him in. It was just so great to see his talent in a completely different form. Next we have Lady Gaga as Ally. Again phenomenal, and I just want to admit that I never really cared so much about her until now. Not in a bad way I just never really thought about her. In the film her incredible singing, and acting made me notice how amazing she is, and how much of an example she is to all singers, and actors. Finally we have Sam Elliot as Bobby. He worked so well with the directing, and provided so much emotion throughout that it’s kind of hard not putting him into this paragraph. He made me, and everyone think that he was Jackson’s brother, and that he is an incredible actor that everyone should see in this movie. Because Everyone in the cast no matter how small the part did a fantastic job.
Aging ‘The Shallow’
There are a few love scenes, drinking smoking alcohol, Jackson Maine does all of these things, and is not exactly a role model. Though, he does help Ally to become a great singer, and even if it meant his career would eventually go down the drain. There is also some mild violence during the film especially when Jackson is drunk. Finally though, Ally is a great role model for everyone to pursue their dream, So overall I recommend this film to teens, to adults. Also be prepared to see some real sadness.
